If there is any downside to powerful computers, it is that the computers are damn too big.Soon, that is going to change.Because, IBM is soon introducing World’s Smallest Computer.

March 19 is the first day of IBM Think 2018.It is the company’s flagship conference day.Where the company will unveil what it claims is the world’s smallest computer. It is a tiny computer, smaller than a grain of salt.

Don’t let it’s size make you fool. This very little computer has the computing power of the x86 chip from 1990.However, you will need a microscope to see this tiny computer.

The computer will cost less than ten cents to the manufacturer. Will also pack seven hundred thousand transistors, as the company says. About 20,000 transistors will fit on a chip the size of a fingernail. These will let it monitor, analyze, communicate and even act on data.

World's smallest computer

This computer works with blockchain.Especially this computer will be a data source for blockchain applications. It is made to help track the shipment goods and also detect theft and fraud.Basic tasks can also be done by this computer like sorting the data that’s given.

IBM says that this is just the starting.Within next few years-computers like ink dots or smaller than a grain of salt will be embedded in daily object and devices.

If this is true, we will see a lot of little systems in objects and devices in next coming years.IBM has admitted spending $3 billion on chip research and development.

It is not confirmed when this computer will be released.IBM researchers are testing its first prototype.

However one thing is sure, the future is here. You might require a microscope to see(view) this computer.
