1. Change your power settings
Windows 10 power saver plan slows down your PC. It reduces PC’s performance to save energy. If you change your power plan from Power saver to High performance, it will give you an instant performance boost.
For that go to control panel, then choose hardware and sound. Select Power Options. There you will see two options: Balanced and Power Saver.

2. Disable programs that run on startup

Type sysdm.cpl in the windows search box and press enter. It will launch the System Properties dialog box. Hit the advanced tab and click”Settings” in the performance section. You will see a big list of animations and special effects. Turn all these off.
Although it is alot easier to select”Adjust for the best performance” at the top of the screen and then tap OK. Windows 10 will turn off all the effects that are slowing down the system.
6. Launch the Windows troubleshooter
To launch it, run Control panel, select System and Security>Security and Maintenance>Troubleshooting>Run maintenance tasks. A screen”Troubleshoot and help prevent computer problems” will show. Hit Next.
It(troubleshooter) will locate files and shortcuts user don’t use, identify performance and many other issues on your PC, report all these to you and then fix them.
Note: You can get a message like this:”Try troubleshooting as an administrator.”Suppose you have administrative rights to the computer, hit it and the troubleshooter will launch nd do its work.
7. Get help from the Performance Monitor
There is an excellent tool in Windows 10. It is called Performance Monitor. It can make a detailed performance report about your computer.t also suggest fixes too.
To get the report, write perfmon/report in the search box and hit enter. The performance monitor launches and collects information about your system. After monitor performance finishes, it will launch an interactive report.
8. Kill bloatware
Sometimes Windows is not slowing down your PC. But bloatware and adware that takes up CPU. You will be amazed that how more fast your Windows 10 PC can run if you get rid of bloatware.
To do this, first, run a system scan to find adware and malware. You can use Windows 10’s built-in anti-malware application.
Just write Windows Defender in the search box, press Enter, and then click Scan Now.
There is also the second opinion, So, consider a free tool like Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. It scans for malware and removes what it finds; the paid version offers always-on protection to stop infections in the first place.
Now check for bloatware and get rid of it. Many free programs will do this for you. It is best to run several because no single one will locate all the bloatware on your system.
9. Shut down and restart Windows
The last tip is to shut down the pc and restart it. It clears out any excess use of RAM which otherwise cannot be cleared
