Motorola is back in the tablet business with the Moto Tab, an AT&T exclusive. Spotted by 9to5Google, the Moto Tab isn’t anything special. It runs Android 7.1 with a Snapdragon 625 processor, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, and a 7,000mAh battery underneath a 10.1-inch 1080p display.
It also features a fingerprint sensor and a USB-C port. But the main reason it exists is for DirecTV. The Moto Tab has a “TV Mode” that allows you to watch your recorded shows and live channels from DirecTV quickly from the home screen or lock screen. It’s basically another way for AT&T to promote its DirecTV service, which makes me wonder why Motorola came back into the tablet game for this. It could’ve done the same thing with a Lenovo-branded tablet, which this probably is under the hood.
The Moto Tab will be available for $299 on November 17th.
