Hi,
I have a lenovo Miix and you can only deploy a image via the docking station how do I inject the driver for the docking station so that it doesn't lose connection when selecting a deployment share??
Hey BJ, I know this is an old video but I'm hoping you still monitor it. (I'm a huge fan following you on the old blog, IG, and today subb'ed here!)
I'm NOT pxe booting, but using a USB stick to connect to the server and share.. Do I NEED to inject drivers? Sadly I didn't know about the folders so ALL the drivers (thankfully all Lenovo but still, easily a hundred drivers, and why did it keep all the old versions alongside the new versions?) were being injected. Is it better to remove them all since I'm not PXE booting and let the machine and USB do the work? WILL it work?
Reason: My most recent capture got reeeeeeeeally slow all the sudden. It's the cleanest image we've done to date, but it went from 20 minutes to over 2 hours just days apart. (We've compacted, cleaned, regenerated, rebooted server etc etc, no improvement yet). Can ya help? Can anyone help if BJ doesn't see/respond?
my friend i'm from france and i see your videos ( i hve startig with video's RAID) ans now i'm in the deployment step, thank you, god bless you !!
Question, Thanks to your MDT coverage my system is humming. but I'd like to know how to install drivers that installed by .exe
i have a few lenovos that their chipset are installed by a EXE.
Can only WinPE drivers be added to the out-of-box drivers? TIA
Hi Bernard
I have been running into issues when adding additional drivers for various models into my MDT deployment I have a latitude 7450 5430 and optiplex 7010 and 7020 (I have the folders under the out of box drivers named after the model name as listed from "wmic computersystem get model" results. My main issue is that currently the 7450 will not complete the deployment cycle if any of the other folders are populated with drivers which leads me to believe that MDT is pulling drivers for the 7450 from any folder that it wants to from out of box drivers. Are you aware of a way to force specific models to search only within specific folders for drivers do I need to add a deployment rule?

How does MDT know what drivers to use based on model name? If I make a sub-folder for each model name will every folder still be injected into the install?
Hello. I noticed you only set up x64 nic drivers can you also include the x86 in the same folder? or have two separate folders one for x86 and x64 NIC drivers? thanks

I would think at that point all of your drivers area based on the motherboard you are using. You could create a Variable for each Motherboard model number instead of PC model. You would accomplish the same thing and if you don't check the box to allow duplicates anything that has the same nic or chipset should not use any more space. Thanks for the vids also. I am setting up my first MDT server following your videos.
Yea can you make a video about how to apply certain drivers during deployment based on the model of PC you're deploying to? Do you have to create a separate task sequence for each model? And then choose the task sequence you want to use during the deployment phase?
Hey! Great video, I already did all this, can you make a video about how you apply certain drivers to certain models? maybe using the Dell .cab files?
