Do you believe that Videogame companies are "leaking" info of their games as a marketing strategy?

Well, I have that theory. Leaks and rumors about video games have always been existed even before the internet become famous, but in the late year, those holes have become more accurate, in most of the case

What do you think? Do the video game companies are "leaking" their info to have free publicity on the internet? or the professional confidentiality has been decreased in the recent years

They do.

The variation is what type of info they leak.

Some info they leak to drum up hype or to test feedback in a more efficient way than an official declaration.

Some of the company leaks are mere to muddy the waters of leaks they don’t want out there.

Any large company whose medium revolves around social media info, and this applies to video game companies; they devote resources to handling social media leaks/rumors
