In BoW, when you kill enemies, they will drop a bunch of stuff. Sometimes it's all tightly bunched together.

Unlike Skyrim, there is no way to point what you want correctly. BoW uses a context sensitive prompt for selecting items.

I've seen this mechanic in other games, and it's usually a recipe for frustration. You'll pick up items you don't want, or you'll accidentally pick up a thing when you're trying to do something else. In BoW, it works flawlessly.

I'm almost sure it keeps track of the items you consistently pick up. For example, I will leave unwanted weapons but always pick up monster parts. So, when I walk up to these item piles, it still gives me a prompt for monster parts first.

There's surprisingly a lot of code being executed for such a simple mechanic, and it impressed me. It streamlines the process.
