Hi,
Can you make a Video on how to configure your DHCP-Server to support BIOS and UEFI Systems to PXE-Boot at the same time please?
is it possible to take data backup using MDT 2013 and restore it using WDS ?
This video is great! I watched many times, now I'm working on that and I wanted to ask you if you know how can we create a pxe menu, I mean something like "Hi this is a …bla bla, chose the operating system you want" and the second question is how can we add another images or tools in that menu. Thanks again for this awesome tutorial
Thanks a lot for sharing this.
Very informative indeed 🙂
can you do a video on diskless boot windows from server 2012 iscsi target?
Hello BTNHD, i was wondering do you need a install.wim in the folder for your standalone pxe
Thanks for the Video all is great!!!
You never went over the DHCP settings
Thanks for the video! I really appreciate it
Hey Benito! I had a question about grabbing the DHCP. Why would it be that I am able to PXE boot at a max of about 3 endpoints at a time? Once that number has been reached and those systems are being deployed, any other systems that I try to boot after this, I get a PXE-E52 error and it says the no DHCP offers were received?
Very informative, thanks.
I would like to know more about "Active Directory Prestaged Devices" please. Thank you… Awesome information!!!
My uefi pc does boot from pxe ok up to the point where windows setup should start. I keep getting BSOD unmountable_boot_volume.
Did you try this in UEFI-Mode?
First off,
Thanks for the help. Secondly do you know how I would edit the lite touch boot wim?
i want to change the name of the machine in the pxe boot and install a new driver to it for hp elitebook G2.
thanks again
thank you for doing these wonderful free videos!
Hey BJ do you have a video for deployment an image with WDS?
Thanks,
Alex
Hi ,
It is a greate video. I cross the greate firewall to watch this. It is really greate.
I just use the mdt 2013 and Server 2008 R2 to deploy the Windows 7.
I wonder how can i skip the windows deployment wizard.
I edit the CustomSettings.ini and Bootstrap.ini, but it doesn't work.
Maybe I miss something.
Please help
86bit?…LOL!! That's impressive
Thank you. Great video!
Thanks for the videos BJ. 🙂
Any Chance you could do a video on Deploying Windows with PXE/MDT 2013 to a Mac on Parallels 9 or 10?
hi 2 questions:
dont we need install image?
and im having a problem: when the background with "microsoft solution accelerators" pops up then it stops nothing happends and then exit out, any idea what causes it? and im using hyper-v, trying to deploy windows 7 with firefox from a windows 2008 r2 server. i have edited bootstrap.ini and customsettings.ini a bit. im going to a fresh setup when i get back to the server (im a student so its at the school)
Thanks BJ I just configured my Windows server 2012 and need to do some test images this was very helpful
I have followed your videos about WDS and MDT2013. Got it all installed and set up. I am having an issue with PXE boot. Server gets an IP address, but no boot file selected. I added the LiteTouch boot images as well. I have attached the screenshot.
We're all on one subnet, and the dhcp and dns roles are on a different server from the WDS/MDT server.
DHCP Server Options I have set is: 60 PXE Client with value PXEClient and 66 Boot Server Host Name with value 192.168.1.10 which is the IP address of the WDS/MDT server.
I am testing using a virtual machine.
Hi there,
Thank you for the this video. Do you have a video for where WDS is installed on another computer and your DHCP is installed on another computer?
Please assist me how to configure.
Thank you.
well done. thanks alot
Just want to say thanks. This is the second time Ive used the info in this vid to setup a deployment server.
Thanks
I setup my MDT/WDS environment with your videos, thanks. But I can only PXE boot using native BIOS and not UEFI. Do you have any suggestions?
Amazing Tutorial, I just follow your step and it work my MDT. Now I can't find a tutorial to deploy Microsoft SQL server ànd Visual Studio 2013.
I have Windows server 2012 R2 Datacenter with MDT 2013 and Want to deploy Microsoft SQL server ànd Visual Studio 2013 to Windows 8. Will you help me with that?
I want to deploy 4 different computer hardware types on my netword using MDT/WDS but I can not found any tutorial explaying how to create more than 1 tasks on MDT 2013.
My scenario are windows 7_64 client and Windows 8.1.
I am importing Windows7 client on MDT configuring Task Sequence, Unattended file, injecting drivers on specific folder and enabling if the folder is a hardware that I want to generate .wim file, etc..
First at all after importing the .wim file already created on WDS from MDT d:deploymentshareboot, for exemple: Windows 7 client, ok ! Create the name to this as: WIndows 7_64.
But now, if I will go to MDT again and generate a new task sequence to explort a .wim file with Windows 8 and importing on WDS i will have to different installation types when I will boot from PXe: For example: WIndows 7 and other one: WIndows 8, oK?
When I choose the Windows 7 on Boot PXE menu, the process starts, I choose the share folder: \serverdeploymentshare$ (MDT share) and after complete the WDS installation process do you know what´s happend ? Windows 8 appears on my computer. This is occouring because the last OS version exported was Windows 8 and deployment share was updated with the deployment workbenth update that I made with Windows 8.
I saw that MDT has a folder named: Operating Systems and I thinked that, when I generate a new .wim file from MDT this foder was automatly updated because I can see 2 differents folders named: windows7_64 and Windows8.1.
I think that I am having a confusion to do the correct WDS/MDT deployment process on my network.
I thinked that WDS toke the Image imported to that sequence on menu and applyed but I am seeing that MDT share folder will deploy only the last image generated.
When I am wrong on these process? I tryied to deploy using WDS share folder: \serverreminst but it´s not working.
Can you help me ?
Why don´t you create a tutorial explaying how to deploy 3 differente images: 2 different hardwares using Windows 7 and another one using windows 8.1: Generating on MDT to injecting drivers, packages, etc and importing and deploying on WDS!
I loved your videos ! Your explannation is very good !
Help me !
Tks a lot !
FYI, x86 is not 86-bits as you said several times in the video.
any reason why I would be booted to CMD after upgrading from MDT 2012 to 2013? so lost 🙁
I think you are going to allow me to get a pay raise.. Thanks..
You de BOMB!!!!!
YOU MAKE MY LIFE SO EASY XOXOXOX
I have never installed wds but I decided to make my own portable imaging server that I could use anywhere anytime regardless of any AD neither on the server or external. There was one step left and that was the PXE-boot and the first hit I tested on google was yours and less than fifteen minutes (jumped a little in your video) later I have the PXE-boot upp and running exactly the way I wanted.
Many thanks.
/Björn
Hey your videos are great man, Keep up the great work!! So i've followed your steps and I cant seem to locate the .wim files in the c:DeploymentShareboot any ideas on why i dont see anything in that folder at all?
Serva is simpler, neater and I get things done much faster.
