3. Lenovo Yoga Book

Lenovo Yoga Book gets credit for offering one of the most unusual designs ever seen in the best laptop market. This superportable 2-in-1 laptop/tablet hybrid includes a Wacom sketching pad that can instantly transform into a QWERTY keyboard. This feature looks more fun, highly portable device that instantly appeals to creative professionals but one that’s not nearly as practical as Lenovo makes it out to be.

I would personal use Lenovo Yoga book as an option as secondary or travel computer, instead of a Chromebook, iPad or other small screen budget laptop. It also largely depends on your creation versus consumption patterns, and for creators what you’re actually working on.

The most striking feature of this slim 10.1-inch hybrid (available in both Operating Systems i.e Windows and Android versions) is its keyboard, or at least the space on the clamshell body where the keyboard would normally be. Instead, there’s a completely flat, button-free surface that alternates between a drawing tablet and a touch-powered backlit keyboard. It’s a bit like an iPad’s on-screen keyboard, except that it doesn’t actually take over part of the screen.

Laptop Main Features:

CPU: 64 Bit Atom x5

GRAPHICS: HD Graphics

RAM: 4 Gigabyte

SCREEN: Touch Screen 1920 x 1200 (WUXGA) pixels

4. Apple Macbook Pro with TOUCH BAR – My Best Latop 2017 Choice

The new MacBook Pro comes in three flavors: two 13-inch models and a 15-incher. They all have thinner bodies, better screens, and trackpads so big they blot out the sun. And you can buy it in space gray. But the important addition is the Touch Bar. This capacitive strip of OLED glass above the keyboard is supposed to change everything, again, about how you use your laptop.

“For 25 years,” Tim Cook said while unveiling the device, “we’ve been defining and redefining what a notebook is and what it can do.” Dramatic pause. “And today, we’re going to do it again.” Of course, Apple expects you to pay up: the MacBook Pro with Touch Bar starts at $1,800.

5. Apple Macbook Pro 12 Inch with Retina Display – My Best Latop 2017 Choice

If you follow the best laptop market with any regularity, chances are you have an opinion on the new Apple MacBook Pro. You might think it’s bad! It certainly gives longtime Mac users reason to be angry.

But devoid of context, and away from the pressure of being a MacBook, it’s still just a nice piece of machinery. Apple has lost its grip as maker of The Best Laptop, but if you’re a Mac fan with a deep wallet, there’s much more good than bad here.

6. Asus ROG Zephyrus GX501

ROG Zephyrus is a revolutionary gaming laptop born from ROG’s persistent dedication to innovation. Despite being thinner than all previous ROG laptops, it has the hardware to rival high-end gaming desktops NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 graphics with Max-Q design, a 7th Generation Intel Core processor, an optional 120Hz wide-view display, and Windows 10 Pro. ROG slimmed the body to a mere 16.9-17.9mm while maintaining powerful cooling and unbeatable acoustic efficiency thanks to a clever new air-flow design: Active Aerodynamic System. The sleek chassis also includes an RGB keyboard that will feel familiar to gamers who typically play on desktop PCs.

7. Dell Inspiron 15 7000 Gaming

Dell has not changed the XPS 15 design for few years, so the latest model doesn’t look all that different from the one released in previous years by Dell. It’s still a clean and functional design that’s built rock–solid, but I’m hoping Dell switches things up next year just for the sake of novelty. The XPS 15 has a silver-colored aluminum lid stamped with Dell’s logo in black but is otherwise completely spartan. Lifting the lid reveals the 15.6-inch, 4K InfinityEdge display with almost no bezel around the top and sides. The backlit, island style keyboard is surrounded by a black soft-touch deck. I appreciate the battery indicator on the right side of the best laptop with the push of a button, up to five lights will illuminate, giving you an idea of how much longer the notebook will last, even if it’s closed.

For your money, you are getting quite a capable 15-inch gaming laptop equipped with quad-core Intel Core processors and an Nvidia GTX 1060 graphics chip. What’s more, the thinner design and new features of this affordable Max-Q design make it well worth looking at.

9. Microsoft Surface Pro 4

Microsoft’s new Surface Laptop is the best laptop 2017 for most people because it blends power, portability, and battery life better than any other computer. It has a great keyboard and trackpad; a beautiful, high-resolution touchscreen; and comes in four different colors. Surface Pro 4 uses Intel’s latest processors and can be specced out with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage.

The Surface Laptop is not the chpeast model most people should get runs for $1,299 but it feels like a premium computer — should, and if you spend most of your day working on a computer, — you should spend a little more to get a good one.

The one big drawback to the Surface Laptop is it comes with Windows 10S, Microsoft’s limited version of Windows that only allows apps from the Windows Store to be installed. You can easily –upgrade the Surface Laptop to Windows 10 Pro, however, and then you can run any Windows app you can find. That upgrade is free through at least the end of the year. Microsoft says it will charge $50.00 for it at some point in the future, but has not specified exactly when.

The best laptop right now

10. Acer Switch 3

Available in a single configuration, the Acer Switch 3 has a gray metal back that picks up a few finger smudges, while the black bezel around its glass screen collects thumbprints like crazy. The keyboard cover continues the dark gray theme—none of the burgundy or blue available from Microsoft. Measuring 0.39 by 11.6 by 7.9 inches (HWD), the tablet is virtually the same size as a Surface Pro, and substantially larger than the Transformer Mini’s 0.5 by 10.2 by 6.7 inches. The extra width makes for more comfortable typing.

The 12.2-inch IPS screen offers 1,920-by-1,200 resolution, with ample brightness and wide viewing angles. Colors are true, if maybe very slightly muted instead of bold or popping, but fine details are sharp and contrast is excellent. Videos we sampled looked great in our testing, even if letterboxed for the Acer’s 16:10 rather than 16:9 aspect ratio.

Laptop Main Features:

CPU: 1.10GHz Intel Pentium Quad Core N4200 (up to 2.5GHz burst)

GRAPHICS: Intel HD Graphics 505

RAM: 4GB LP DDR3

SCREEN: 12.2-inch, 1920 x 1200 IPS LCD

STORAGE: 64GB eMMC

More Features >>

  • Comes with keyboard cover and stylus. Typist-friendly keyboard cover. USB-C and USB 3.0 ports.
  • Underwhelming battery life. 64GB versus rivals, 128GB of storage. Tiny, difficult to-push power button.

11. Acer Chromebook R11

The 360° hinge features dual-torque technology, so the panel is very easy to open, but locks in place when you tap, swipe and pinch on the touchscreen – for wobble-free touch control. The panel senses when you place it upside down for “tent mode”, prompting the image and audio channels to flip over automatically

Pick up the Chromebook R 11, and open this stylish touchscreen Chromebook all the way, until it becomes a tablet. On the way to 360 degrees of tablet fun, you can stop to configure it as a stand-up display, or a tent-shaped display that you can place on narrow ledges.

12. Asus Transformer Mini T102HA

The Transformer Mini T102HA$389.00 at Amazon has a magnesium-aluminum alloy and glass body, which feels more premium than plastic clad tablets like the HP Pavilion x2Best Price at Amazon and the Dell Venue 8 Pro 3000 SeriesBest Price at Amazon. The matte silver color of the back panel matches the gray keyboard cover, though a bright orange cover is an option if you want a splash of color. The system measures 0.5 by 10.2 by 6.7 inch HWD, so its compact frame won’t be too bulky if you’re –stowing it in a small bag or carrying it around the house. It weighs 1.18 pounds alone and 1.75 pounds with the keyboard cover connected. A fabric loop is built into the keyboard cover, so you can clip the included –stylus to the tablet.

13. Dell XPS 15

Dell took what was arguably a best-in-class 15-inch Windows notebook and made it even better. It retains the line’s terrific screen, premium build, svelte design and full feature set, boosting it for 2017 with the latest processors from Intel and Nvidia.

It’s more traditional and certainly a lot more staid than multipurpose hybrids models such as the HP Spectre x360, but it makes up for that with the power and features you can’t really cram into a hybrid.

See At Amazon

I also think it eclipses the current MacBook Pro in most respects, including using it for photo and graphics work as well as gaming. If the choice is between the Mac’s only standout features the clever Touch Bar and almost absurdly large touchpad and the Dell’s far better features, specs and price, I’ll take the Dell XPS 15 best laptop any time.

Laptop Main Features:

CPU: Intel Quad Core i7 processor with Turbo Boost up to 3.9GHz

GRAPHICS: HD Graphics

RAM: 8 Gigabyte – 16 Gigabyte

SCREEN: 15.4 inches 2880x1800 pixels

STORAGE: Storage: 256GB – 1TB PCIe 3.0 SSD

14. Samsung Notebook 7 Spin

Many Windows hybrids are essentially full-time tablets that get a keyboard added on to become a part-time laptop. Potentially more useful is something like the Samsung Notebook 7 Spin, which looks and feels like a standard 15-inch laptop, but has a 360-degree hinge, allowing it to fold back into a touchscreen tablet without compromising its laptop ergonomics.

Like other 360-degree hinge hybrids, including the popular Lenovo Yoga series, you can stop at a few points along the way, such as a kiosk mode or table tent mode, which puts the display front and center.

But there are a lot of hybrid laptops with 360-degree hinges out there. At this point, making waves in this crowded pool requires adding new features, better designs or other extras. In the case of this 15-inch version of the Notebook 7 Spin, you get a full-HD touchscreen with an interesting special feature. Samsung has included what it calls an HDR mode — which mean high dynamic range.

Laptop Main Features:

CPU: Intel Quad Core i7 processor with Turbo Boost up to 3.9GHz

GRAPHICS: HD Graphics

RAM: 8 Gigabyte – 16 Gigabyte

SCREEN: 15.4 inches 2880x1800 pixels

STORAGE: Storage: 256GB – 1TB PCIe 3.0 SSD

More Features >>

  • Touch Bar and Touch ID
  • Thearter like Multimedia
  • Expensive — It’s Apple 🙂

15. HP Spectre x360

A true ultraportable, the Spectre x360 13 is seriously slim and light. The same was true of the first iteration, and its only slimmed down from there. The 2015 model measured 0.63 by 12.79 by 8.6 inches (HWD) and weighed 3.26 pounds, the 2016 model was 0.5 by 12 by 8.6 inches and 2.8 pounds, and this year’s version is minimally slighter at 0.5 by 12 by 8.5 inches and 2.8 pounds. This compares well with the Lenovo Yoga 910$1,399.99 at Lenovo (0.56 by 12.72 by 8.84 inches, 3.01 pounds) and the Dell XPS 13 2-in-1$999.99 at Dell (0.54 by 11.98 by 7.8 inches, 2.7 pounds), and means it’ll barely register in your briefcase, shoulder bag, or backpack. Overall, the new design and color scheme with the slender profile make for a killer look.

Laptop Main Features:

CPU: Intel Quad Core i7 processor with Turbo Boost up to 3.9GHz

GRAPHICS: HD Graphics

RAM: 8 Gigabyte – 16 Gigabyte

SCREEN: 15.4 inches 2880x1800 pixels

STORAGE: Storage: 256GB – 1TB PCIe 3.0 SSD

More Features >>

  • Fast performance. Slick, modern design. Slim build. 4K display with sharp image quality. USB-C with Thunderbolt 3 plus USB 3.0 ports.
  • Battery life is only average on the 4K model. Requires USB-C adapters for video out.
